If you're really concerned about you're game not winning gotm, just make sure you release it at the end of a month when there were no good games. It's not like people didn't do that in the past, and it would solve MadTom's problem just a little.
GOTM ran pretty flawlessly for a while when it was one person deciding it. Yeah, there was some heartbreak but that's what the shoutouts in the first paragraph are for. If GOTM could be successful during a time when people really cared about it, I think we can bring it back now that people wouldn't.
