I've done it before, but it's REALLY REALLY ABSURDLY DIFFICULT TO DO.

I'm still not sure of the mechanics of it...

It'd be pretty easy to beat the game that fast. You can get three warp whistles in the first two worlds, then warp to the last world.

Actually, you only need two whistles. First you use one to get to Warp Zone, then you use the other one while still in the Warp Zone to reach World 8. Cool, huh?

I never knew that until I saw it in the video.

I read about it in online game guides. A warp whistle used in World 1 takes you to the top row of warp pipes; a warp whistle used in Worlds 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 takes you to the middle row of warp pipes; and a warp whistle used in Worlds 7, 8, or 9 takes you to the bottom row with the one warp pipe. World 9 is the Warp Zone itself, which is why that trick works. And yes, this does mean you can warp backwards from World 6 to World 5 if you want!

I think the creator of the speed videos used an emulator with lots of helpful features like super-slo-mo to have time to perfect every move, too. As I said, with lots of saves and loads, it's only a matter of time before you come up with the perfect sequence of moves.

Yea, it seems almost impossible to do all that perfectly. I have an emulator on my pocket PC that allowed me to beat The oldschool zelda games without loosing all my lives and continuing. All he has to do is save it at the begining of every level, then play it over and over and over again until he gets it perfect. There seems to be a bit of pause between levels, and the camera tapeing it never moves an inch

I like how he was showing off while jumping on bombs and cannonballs and monkeywrence guys.

Yeah, when he was doing that, I was all "OMG HOW DOES ANYONE 1-UP JUMP LIKE THAT"
