I'm Zamros, and I'm well known around these parts for being a sort of "welcome wagon" for the ZZT Community in general because I just love new folks so much! It's great to see there's some new interest in ZZT even after all these years as an outlet for simple, fun programming. I hope your journey in ZZT is as significant as some of ours!
Your RuneScape idea sounds really cool. Maybe you should put out a demo to get the community excited about it instead of just posting. You can just put together a few boards, nothing really special or revealing, and show us what you have so we can either give you some advice about it or just have fun with it and tell you how much we like it!
The most important part of being new in the ZZT World is to get as much experience in ZZT as you can before starting it out yourself! Starting with inspiration like RuneScape is great but you can really see what ZZT has done if you check out stuff that's already been released! I suggest looking at some stuff by Greg Janson, Mrs. Clause, Viovis, ryosuke, Flimsy Parkins, Evan Darrow, and drac0, just to name a few off the top of my head.
And remember, most of all, to have fun! If you're not having fun making your ZZT Game, people aren't going to have fun playing it!
