i just downloaded the stupid rpg games

part of me thinks we should readd those to z2 already. i mean i looked on the "gamez" site and nameless is missing! no great loss, but could be a sign of things to come. lame and annoying as knightt was, it would be sort of sad for his only surviving legacy in zzt to die through entropy

I highly doubt that Knightt would care much, he hasn't been around for like what two years now?

I liked Knightt though. He was nice to me.

What was the specific dispute that resulted in Knightt removing his games, and who was involved in it? It may be possible to talk him into reuploading them, seeing as his dispute was with a different administration.

Of course, that assumes that we can contact him. If, after a good-faith effort, we fail to track him down, I have no problem with uploading his games. After all, we don't bother to contact the authors of old AOL games we occasionally add to the archive.

I thought it was over GOTM, but I came in at the tail end of that, knightt was still on the boards then.

I'm not asking why he got upset. I'm asking what particular thing he got upset about.

Well I was totally out of the loop, but I remember everyone got their angers built up when he was sort of running zzt.org and taking a lot of credit for its success. And then there was zzt sports and the gotm fiasco, wherein knightt made a game in the same month as zzt sports came out. People voted for zzt sports, quite likely out of spite for knightt (GOTM was chosen by election at that point), and the big question was if this game deserved to be gotm when hardly any effort went into it. Because Hydra was involved in GOTM, Knightt got into an argument with him, which is inherently a big deal because Hydra was really chill and to piss him off would have taken some effort.

For the record, I liked knightt. I was a few years too early to have ever been a lackey, but he was still really cool when I was a newbie. I remember being dissapointed that his was a tragic and bitter end.

as well as the above, a lot of people's beef with knightt (including my own) was that he was really critical of other people's zzt games, but the second someone said "hey stupid rpg sucks" he would be like WHAT YOU ARE ASSAULTING MY SOUL WITH THAT COMMENT OH GOD YOU ARE MAKING ME KILL MYSELF n'stuff which was really, really annoying

also, there was a log somewhere where he spent about 10 minutes swearing at kracken because she didn't give warriors of seven a gotm one time, too. that didn't really endear him to the populace. it is long gone now, though. and then there was the whole zenryoku/#loungeact thing. ugh, god

he originally requested that srpg be taken off the boards when fishfood removed his board mods one time for some reason i don't remember. the admins complied with this request, which i think was actually the second time he'd done it.
