To your knowledge, has anyone done a truly nonlinear ZZT sidescroller before?
Sid's disaster was nonlinear in that you had two routes you could take (We should have a lovefest for that game, it's well deserved), but I'm talking literally being able to go back and forth between one board and another.

I think we should buy whomever made Sid's Disaster a cookie!

i'm surprised nobody's mentioned "forest of zzt" by the agonizer yet. that was a good game, even though the engine itself was nothing special.

If only we knew who the maker of Sid's Disaster was! Three cheers would be offered!
..Re: Forest of ZZT - I think it got mentioned on the first page? I know because I downloaded it based on his recommendation. It had some really interesting layouts, but the engine killed it a bit for me. I ended up quitting halfway through and just flipping through the interesting board designs.

I don't remember the two Freak Da Cat games that well, but I remember the experience of playing them, and they were quite fun. Also, one of the two missions in New Earth Operations had a pretty nice sidescrolling engine. It was really difficult, but it was nice programming.
