Tragedy. Snorb's game is dead. Writer's block killed it.

Here's my story, sad but true: Topic was announced 5 pm Friday. Guess where I was 5 pm Friday? If you said "Kmart," give yourself a point. So, I wind up spotting everyone five hours. I get back, get the topics, try to figure out what the hell I'm doing.

Ten seconds later, it hits me: "Dude! Snorb! Make a sequel to your entry in the Winter '02 24HoZZT! Base it on the remake you're still working on!" Three boards later, I realized I'm writing my characters out of character. You read that right. I WAS WRITING MY OWN FUCKING CHARACTERS OUT OF CHARACTER.

So, I give it some sleep. And I decide, "Dammit, then, make a game where z2 is like PSIV's Hunter Guild and you're all hunters!" So I do. And that's where teh dread Writer's Block (tm) kicks in. Oh, well. At least I wrote MadTom saying "Hey, Snorb. You remember how you, Scorch, and Sephy keep bitching because you never get any good missions, and we say we'll only give you missions when everyone else dies, and Dos runs off to Rio de Janeiro with all the money in my bank account, and Tyrannous's brother-in-law decides he doesn't feel like working today, and the Pope converts to Islam? Guess what. You three fucking hit the jackpot. <:("

I still have both games, such as they are. If anyone wants, I'll zip 'em up and upload them, just for the hell of it.

Round out what you have and submit it. It's better than nothing.

I don't think I've ever been able to write my own characters in character very well.

This is why I'm not working on Police Brutality right now: It turns out I thought up a very character-based game, and I still have to hammer out what all the characterizations are before I "write myself into a corner".

Well bloody hell. My job desided to start freakin early so my game went to her untimely death. I'll just end it early and just follow it with a sequal later in history =(. I even had "Walk into the sun" played on the game by ear.

Edit:I got my thing of coffee and I'm krunk as a moefoe. I'm getting this thing done today.

Phantasy Star IV kicked ass.

BTW I *might* be able to finish my WoZ game. It's kind of hard to make a game that has no point, though.

In any case, some guy I don't know:

:vedick:

'cause everyone else is doin' it.

Dr Dos0016: also do you actually plan to judge the WoZZT games
MooseKuh: wait i'm a judge?
Dr Dos0016: oh good
MooseKuh: no one ever told me that i guess
Dr Dos0016: because you see I changed my mind and wanted to judge
Dr Dos0016: and MadTom was like UH IF MOOSE OR SOMEBODY DECIDES NOT TO YOU CAN
MooseKuh: uhh okay
MooseKuh: go for it
Dr Dos0016: success

So I'm officially out and I'm a judge.

Here is what I planned to submit otherwise. http://box43.net/~dr_dos/DOSFEELS.ZZT

Either that, or have an object #bind to itself, or duplicate something pushable onto a player clone.

Anyway, this has just finished. I'll give anyone who needs it a few minutes' grace, but you'll need to submit what you've done now. Thanks to all those who participated:

I would have been very punctual except for those rules about zipping and adding a text file, which I wasn't ready for.

That was a real curveball, MadTom 8(
