fun + true fact: considering buying a laptop within the next few weeks, it will probably have vista or windows 7 on it whether i like it or not, how much better than vista is 7? i keep hearing it's not as resource-hungry but does anyone have any concrete info. thanks.

the only thing that I heard about it that I payed any attention to was that it was more compatible with older windows programs than vista.

It is actually less resource hungry. It was designed to run on netbooks so that they could get rid of xp. I have been running the RC on my Asus 1000HA. I have found it boots faster than xp and runs quicker. I have even found that a P4 with 512Mb ram is good enough to run it well. There are some features that make life on a computer much easier. I won't be going back to xp.

ZZT is DOS
DOS != Windows
In conclusion, I don't think so.

I only have one problem with windows 7 and dosbox, that is that it doesn't like to go full screen. The colours are all wrong. But I have only tested with intel gfx cards.
Edit: Never mind, I looked through the config file and set it to use opengl. Works great now.

nps tip: zzt, or any 16bit program, won't work on a 64bit version of vista or 7, which you may unwittingly buy!
