3D zzt

Post by Quindo »

I seem to remember seeing somthing about a 3d zzt game. It was a screenshot that looked like a old 3d version of a city. I can't seem to find it now tho.

That's an extremely old picture of DreamZZT, a ZZT interpreter for Dreamcast. The author is still actively working on it.

so dream zzt used to be a 3d zzt clone? I downloaded the current version and it is nowhere near 3d.

No, it's not a 3d zzt game. DreamZZT is a port of ZZT onto the Dreamcast.

I hope the next version incorporates The 3D Talk Engine. Speech is so much more engaging in three dimensions. I kid you not!

the picture is like a title screen or something. it just plays zzt on a dreamcast.

actually hacking a dreamcast can get you game roms on tv with controler and save which makes a dreamcast pretty cool.

Too bad the dreamcast controller is awful.

As is the snes emulator for it.

When Mario World is choppy you should just kill yourself.

Yes, DreamZZT 2 support overlaying a JPEG image on top of the ZZT board. That feature was removed in DreamZZT 3 to keep the experience more "old school".

I'm hoping to have a new beta of DreamZZT 3 out soon.

I like the dreamcast controller :(

I mostly use mine for NES games and Marvel vs Capcom 2 though

Here's Kevin Vance's attempt at a 3D ZZT. It looks like it didn't get too far.
