I actually think this banner is funny, and it actually still links to a site, but seeing it every time I load z2, it's really the most eye catching thing you see when you first visit our page. I'm not sure it's the initial impression we want to make to new visitors. This is not really a vote for removal, more of a call for new banners. With more it would pop up less frequently.

That banner's caught attention at work. :]

Every time I've loaded the site at work I've done so ready to scroll that mousewheel ASAP.

I think that banner is the best part of that website.

It's rather lackluster, don't you think?

I think the site is as much of a joke as the banner.

At some point I got rid of the banners that were now broken links. I made sure to save a copy of the banners somewhere. Possibly /awesome or something.

Not too long ago, I was eating lunch with my coworkers, and we started talking about websites and domain names. One of them asked me, "Do you have a website?"

Well first, let me make it clear that most of the stuff on the website isn't my doing...

(It actually turned out pretty well -- one of my coworkers had played ZZT years ago, and was familiar with some of the older games, like Toxic Terminator)

Did you choke on your lunch for just a second after the question was asked? Or was there the sound of a needle being dragged across a record?

I think it's high time that banner is permanently retired. Whatever humor value it had has long since gone stale, and it leads to a message saying the website has been frozen. (I just clicked on it out of morbid curiosity) The Wayback Machine's most recent capture date is from 2007. So now we have a crude/profane joke banner that is a dead link.
