What is this? GCS?

Post by meldels »

"There's this really old GCS which makes even ZZT look complex. This GCS isn't even object oriented -- you have to handle all that yourself. It's so popular, Intel even makes dedicated hardware for running x86 worlds (they call them "PC games", but same thing). "
Was reading some olde stuff, and came across this post by Quantum P., could someone explain what he's talking about? As in what's GCS stand for, and what's the specific "GCS" he's talking about?

GCS means Game Creation System.

I think that post was sarcasm. He was talking about x86 assembly language, which is about as low level as you can go before coding becomes unreasonably difficult. The foundation of today's most common desktop computer processors is the x86 instruction set.
