ZZT Music Box Game

Post by H1~~ »

Uh yeah I'm looking for this one ZZT game that was specifically about music--
It featured music samples from different ZZT games that were renowned for their music at the time it came out

There was a main room with red walls that linked by passages to other boards that had, like, samples of music that would play on objects when you :touch'ed them.
There was even a superbly coded 'music maker' that used combinations of sliders/pushers and colors (along with an explanation of how it worked) where you could make music IN GAME and it wold be 'read back' and #play'ed.

Anyone can point me to the one I'm talking about?
I think it was in the utilities section.

Not sure exactly which one you mean; there is more than one.

The one titled "music.zip" seems like it best fits your description. It contains two "Music Isle" world files.

Alexis Janson's ZZT Tools has this.

I believe the ZZT Encyclopedia has a more robust version of the composer room.

Apologies for the old post you may have just read.

Found it, thank you.
I forgot that the music box was included along with STK in the same package of toolkits (under Utilities)...
