massive multiplayer online zzt in jQuery and node.js

Post by marak »

hello,

is anyone interested in an online zzt game built in jQuery and node.js? it's all open-source. could use help.

if you are unfamilar jQuery is a javascript library for doing advanced browser stuff and node.js is a server side application framework specializing in high loads and hundreds of thousands of concurrent requests / sockets

http://github.com/marak/zztmmo

online demo : http://zzt.nodejitsu.com/

fork the project on github if you wanna get started coding! we accept pull requests.

Live link doesn't work!

Boy are you lucky when I saw that name I decided it didn't sound spambotty enough and I actually checked to see if you weren't a bot.

I am interested in this! But! I don't know much in the way of programming, so I won't be of much help. I can give suggestions and bug reports, if you care.
Either way, good luck!

once I see multi-player support I'll be interested. Though I always though for duel style games a scrolling screen would be better than the standard zzt fare or that it would be simpler to emulate core elements of zzt's gameplay in favor of an accurate port.
