I really only know first gen, but after beating crystal and reading a Let's Play Emerald thread on SA and going in #pokegoons I am learning the rest.

I swore that I wasn't going to bother with anything past Gold/Silver

Then I saw Fire Red and thought what the hell, and it was pretty cheap so I bought it

Then someone gave me Emerald

And now I can't wait for Diamond/Pearl
