OK.. I was looking at some pics of a game made in megazeux or whatever and it looked nice. I wanted to try it out but it seems that it dosen't like my computer or any other. When I start it up it asks for my sound card and none of the bastards work (I have a sound card built into my motherboard.. I think it's en... en somethin q. I forget.. something crappy anyways.) and it's pissing me off. So I choose no sound and then it freezes. It wouldn't be a problem if the same ting didn't happen on 10 different computers. Yes.. 10.

Sounds like you're screwed.

Not necessarily.

What OS do you use? If it's NT-based Windows, <a href="http://bitpack.net/mzx/nt.html">this FAQ</a> will help.

If you're Linux-inclined, <a href="http://www.digitalmzx.net/forums/index. ... topic=7010"> this topic</a> will help.

If it's 95-98SE, try running it in pure DOS first. If that doesn't work out, well, try editing the command line options. For example, if the card's SB16 emulation is on IRQ 5, port 220 and DMA 1, your command line should look like this:

Mzx269c.exe -irq5 -port220 -dma1

(If you don't know how to edit the command line in Win95-98SE, it's Right Click -> Properties -> Program -> Cmd line)

Go try that and report back the results.

If all else fails, there's <a href="http://mzx32.sourceforge.net/">MZX for Windows</a>, but it doesn't have a working MZX robotics editor.

ahahah yes. OH WELL, IT'S STICKY SO REVIVING IT IS OKAY I GUESS. Plus it's not like it's disrupting the forum or anything.

And if you're not paying attention, the May 01 almost looks like March 01, so it's not as bad!

Megazeux was the first thing I ever used, even before ZZT. Fortunately, I couldn't figure out how on earth I was supposed to make games with it, seeing as it didn't come with any and didn't have a help file.

There are some places to download it that just include the bare essentials, so it probably didn't and doesn't.
