Don't worry, it's not as full of instant death as the game it was inspired by was.

I didn't give it a full playtest, but I did test each board individually.

Every board is possible. I added a last minute free health object just to make you guys feel better if you just want to see what it has to offer.

I tried to avoid the game just being HERE'S A MILLION STARS/LIONS/TIGERS, but a lot of times coming up with a gimmick to screw you over was hard.

Boards I really like how they came out:

The Three Lakes
Path to Castle
Forest 2 (the one before the house of blues)
The Rube Board This is my personal favorite. If you edit it it will be really easy to figure out, but that happens with every zzt game.
Bomb Area this one not so much. I should've rearranged the thing's positions so I could accomplish my original plan for the board where bombing one of those objects would be an instant game over.

It just changes the torches to tigers. I couldn't think of anything for that board.

Ahh, I was making a really hard board but never finished it. I was planning on making a hard game but... I can never really keep interest. This picture won't make sense but... It's hard!

I thought I changed the bank thing back to normal too!

I started this game like a month ago and changed like 3 or 4 boards, then just yesterday decided to actually finish it.

I fixed some other stuff too. Redownload the game if you dare.

i'm afraid i like the idea of this way more than the execution

in my mind, a town of zzt: evil edition should do things that not only make the game unbearably hard, but sadistically murder you dead in ways completely counterintuitive to the way the game is normally played

Yeah. Like checking out the scroll at the beginning of the game causes it to shoot seek at cycle 1 for a while. Not entirely fatal, but I'm sure it would get someone. The original Syobon Action was a pain in the ass and nothing made sense. But in that, it's probably the most fun I've had dying... ever.

And to think I nearly got rid of the opening the first purple door causes a bunch of stars to appear.

That's fine, as long as there was some clever and/or hidden way to disarm or avoid it. That way it's still possible but you get people to save every step they take :P
