What SHOULD you be working on right now?

Post by Quantum P. »

In his LiveJournal, Ando brought up an important issue: Nobody makes ZZT games anymore. To alleviate this condition, I propose that we use this topic as an inverse What are you working on right now?, in which we yell (nicely) at people in the community who should be making ZZT games but are too lazy.

Uh, begin.

I'd say my hands are pretty busy right now. :keen:

Anyway, seriously (for a change), I am working on a ZZT game, but I really suck at making things look pretty so every time I open kevedit I just go "Why the fuck do I even try?" and close it again. :(

Impossible Maze
It seems unlikely that this deeply unsatisfactory situation will be resolved by a new attempt to answer the old question; instead, as has been suggested by some of the most thoughtful students, we should expect to find that some part of the conceptual landscape in which this problematic entity resides must be reconstructed before it will come into focus.

Funny, I was thinking about EFCW just the other day!

Also, your avatar is disgusting yet strangely hypnotic.

I'm trying to get into the swing of balancing academia, music/writing/"art", learning web design, and ZZT again. I've done it successfully in the past but I have my priorities.

I find that the problem I have with this project (Respite) is that whenever I write something new in the game I find myself suspending actually making the damn thing, and run off and write pages of background story (not included in the game) for that event or character which nobody will likely ever read.

When the whole project is finished I think I'll be quite proud of it, though. Oh, and I updated its page.
