Re: 3D ZZT tribute project
I mean it's just a square wave right? Can't it be faked?

Re: ZZT Ultra
You're burning out. It's no big deal, take a break, code something else or don't code at all for a while. If you treat it like a job and not a hobby then it can be easy to get discouraged. No point in forcing yourself to do something you are not enjoying, unless you can clearly see some sort of mile...

Re: Looking for EASY Games
Well the engine does have the tendancy to bug out when you move too quick, and that's a section that has a lot of moving. I would up ZZT's speed a touch or two and it will respond better. Alternatively, don't chase the mouse and let him come to you.

Re: Looking for EASY Games
Since we're suggesting our own games, Cat Cat etc etc by me is easy and good.
Escape from Planet Red is a classic and pretty easy too. Same with Princess Pollyanna. You can also look at the "trippy" genre, but it's hard to call games with little in terms of objective, "easy."

Re: A New z2
I vote full on replacement of z2 at zzt.org. But then of course you'd own it. Quantum pays for the site, he's not exactly pulling in ad revenue. He's mostly uninvolved these days but that's partially cause he works at one of those jobs that owns anything you put under your name. I think new forums a...

Ooo! You could make a combo lock like safe tumblers maybe. An update on town's bank, if you will.

Re: ZZT Ultra
You're better than that friend. Pessimism has gotten the better of you. I've patiently tried to ignore your offhand negativity towards Chris because you are a great ZZTer. Both of you have been the most productive community members in the past two years. I believe this problem is larger than Chris t...

Re: ZZT Ultra
Get off it BB, what's up your craw anyway? All "improvements" to ZZT eventually point back to ZZT itself. There's nothing to lose and everything to gain.ZZTBandit wrote:These Flash, 3D/VR ZZT gimmicks are a disservice to the community for personal gain.

Re: ZZT Ultra
Can't call it an upvote, it actually deserves a 5.
I see it better now how the red and green highlights work for y/n, but in general it's not good UI design to use highlighting when you only have two options, it's hard to tell at the first glance which is selected.

Re: ZZT Ultra
Sorry, should have been more clear, when I said the "other bach" i meant Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach not J.S. Is the tempo working right or am I doing it wrong? For example, try doubling the tempo for zzt rap (I am deleting the line inside and just using the prefix) and the run-time changes,...

Re: ZZT Ultra
Lots of new stuff there since I last looked. BTW. The echo effect doesn't really work with the drums IMO, (i.e. ZZT victory rap sounds a little weird) is this a engine or are they pre-recorded notes (sry if you answered this before)? If the former, it would be nice for a little check box to toggle t...

Re: Ecco the Dolphin
Finally got around to playing it. V. good and the controls are great. I sort of wanted to do a metroid style game with zzt after Sid's. No sideview game lets you return from previous areas, I'm sure yours is the first.
