Re: Greetings, I just acquired the rights from Tim to remake

I think it's a fool's errand to attempt to make it compatible with all ZZT worlds and still have the features you are looking for while still staying faithful. Appetite (and Saxxon before him) had to bend over backwards to recreate all the quirks that ZZT has, many of which are not intended behavior...

Re: ZZT Ultra

Yes! It's a ZZT Chris-mas! Runs nice and smooth on OSX both Safari and Firefox. 8gb RAM, 2.7ghz intel i5 A couple things I just noticed now: Game over text doesn't color cycle. Because I'm on my parents' Mac at home so can't test how real deal handles it, but holding two arrows at the same time give...

Re: Rare ZZT Game Bounties

It would be great if there's a server rack out there that has the old AOL stuff. I'm sure lots of people have lost things from those old servers they'd like to find, not just zzt stuff. I looked into the archived client but can't really tell if they actually have old files.

Re: ZZT Ultra

What audio format are you using? Just throwing it out there without any knowledge of its viability, but maybe a single file with all the possible sounds in it and timestamp indexed. Since the sounds (excluding the drums) are all uniform waveforms, the samples could be quite small and set to repeat d...

Re: There are still people here

Hi Clause! Lots of young drama for sure. Im in the c64 community and people there are older and more apt to die. Our own were a bit surprising for sure. I mean I was 17 when I found this place and and 33 now. Time moves inextricably forward and faster. Ry0s goth spasm gif is not terribly unrepresent...

Re: hey dudes

You kick ass Zamros. Get help if you can. Or maybe a cat? Distract yourself. Move around, don't sit and stew. If you can't change your situation, change little things around you, the placement of things in your room, the music on your ipod, etc. Basically do busy work to keep your mind off yourself.

Re: ZZT Uploads

Hi! How big is the zip? You might be able to just attach it to a forum post.

One lost game I can think of is pirates.zip. i don't remember which is in the archive, but there are two game entries that point to the same zip. So the other one was overwritten at some point.

Re: Roton, pairer

Your guess is as good as mine. The pairer, whatever it is, has no code actually associated with it, same with the dragon pup. They are both un-implemented.

Re: 3D ZZT tribute project

I guess with the camera control and player movement being editable, I was thinking you could do something top-down or isometric. Maybe a side scroller. I'm guessing you aren't doing it like zzt where the player is a special case? Just another object that input happens to control and the camera happe...

Re: 3D ZZT tribute project

Getting a pretty good Freescape engine sort of vibe, interestingly that had an editor as well. What are plans for user edit ability? Like textures? I think being able to define how the player moves and how to move the camera would let you do some cool things. Of course, if you want it to be more lik...

Re: A game I thought I lost

Hi leamas, welcome back. If you upload it I will add it.

People still use kevedit. There's a win version no idea if it's good for win10 etc. Or you can edit with ZAP, a VB based editor. (It's in the archive.) ZZT Ultra, is flash based zzt clone that has an editor as well.

Re: Looking for EASY Games

I cheat all the time, I consider it par for the course in some games. A few games are bugged where you might have to ?zap. ZZT is about seeing the content people have created, I don't feel to bad if I have to but sometimes it's fun not to try. Always good to give a game an honest shake, but don't fe...
