Re: The Reconstruction of ZZT

Very cool. Did you do this entirely by hand from the disassembly? It was Turbo Pascal right? Can you only compile it with DOS, or is there a compiler that might get us a 64bit arch executable? Sorry I can't look at the zip, phone internet for me ATM.

Re: Bad Apple!! ZZT

Wow! Interesting watching when the board transitions happen. Presentation is great too, could have been just the animation, but the movie screen effect is a nice touch. Seriously impressive coding.

I love it. Please put it in the uploads folder!

ICANN sold .org control to private equity firm.

Price protections for .org domain names are set to lapse. Safest bet according to some sources it best to max out on ten year registration before the price skyrockets. Maybe the near end for zzt.org (z2 edition)? https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2019/11/private-equity-firm-buys-org-domain-months-...

Yes it does!

If anyone does something like this, no weekend contest for me I work then :( I know that probably puts me in the minority.

Re: fantasy-style language in earliest ZZT games

A grue is a creature from Zork that lives in the dark. If you are in a dark room without a light you get the message: "It is dark. You might be eaten by a grue." There is a miniscule chance you will just die in a dark room basically. So as darkstar says, text adventures were probably an in...

Re: Creating pushers

I haven't had success with trying to put pushers over stated objects. If you could somehow reproduce the bug where an object inherits another's stats, otherwise I'd say it can't be done.

Great work! This is super cool! I could get the game to pop out but then I lost the buttons for zooming, are there keyboard shortcuts? Fullscreen is a WIP or am I in need of a browser upgrade? Firefox 60.0.2 on Linux.

How do I get to Kevedit?
