Wouldn't black ricochets and walls be easier than fiddling the stats for a black hole? If the hole and bullet switch X and Y step values, wouldn't the next bullet that hits the hole take the direction of the last bullet that hits the hole? It all depends on the situation. Most likely, you did a flood fill over a group of something with stats. Black holes (or, empties with stats) DO have predictable effects, along with everything else in ZZT, and they can be quite fun to mess with.
