Wouldn't black ricochets and walls be easier than fiddling the stats for a black hole? If the hole and bullet switch X and Y step values, wouldn't the next bullet that hits the hole take the direction of the last bullet that hits the hole? It all depends on the situation. Using an external editor that allows you to manually modify the X and Y steps is the easiest way. In the default editor, you could use pushers facing in the desired directions and flood fill them with empties to get the black holes. I haven't tested this, but I assume it would work.

Most likely, you did a flood fill over a group of something with stats. Black holes (or, empties with stats) DO have predictable effects, along with everything else in ZZT, and they can be quite fun to mess with. The Mystical Winds Encyclopedia had an object library of immitation robots. I don't remember if I made key/door immitations, but Commodore's code is about as close as you can get. Objects don't have any way of setting real keys, nor can they be "captured" by the player like ammo, torches, ...
