Re: Creating pushers
Nope. However depending on what exactly you need the pusher to do, it may possible to do it with statted empties/fakes This requires the path the pusher should take to be drawn out in reverse stat order: http://i.pokyfriends.com/twit-pusher.mp4 I'm not... actually sure why the stat order matters? To...

Re: fantasy-style language in earliest ZZT games
In the earliest days of ZZT, the audience skewed older and more technical, since getting ZZT meant using BBSes more than anything else. In the early 90s RPGs weren't as big of a genre as they are today, and so those who were into them were going to find them more on computers with things like the Ul...

Re: Welcome to 2019, another year of disappointment
2018 had a double digit number of ZZT releases which hadn't happened since 2012 thanks to the Glorious Trainwrecks event to make a ZZT world

Re: Tyger
In what way! Tyger was a lot of fun to work on, and taught me a lot about ZZT, how to program, and how very much not to program. Once in awhile I still find myself referencing its source code for things. The Museum's file viewer had the luxury of not having to once again write a dictionary of which ...

Autumn 2003 24 Hours of ZZT
The last 24 Hours of ZZT contest never got any results! I'm running an event through May for people to play through those games, and submit scoring so we can declare a winner 15 years after the contest ended. https://twitter.com/worldsofzzt/status/991715720202371073 I doubt I need to explain the con...

I cannot praise Ana enough. It's so well done. Just be sure to download the soundtrack if you get it from z2!

Re: Releasing unfinished games?
I recently finally got around and learned how to myself: https://blog.archive.org/2015/05/08/making-your-dos-programs-live-again-at-the-internet-archive/ explains how to upload MS-DOS software to automatically run with their in browser emulator. You can compare your data with the file I tested with ...

Re: Releasing unfinished games?
I've been dead from a cold recently and haven't had a chance to reply to this! The Museum is based on a direct copy of z2's database and files, but there was an official cutoff point for this, so they are two separate collections now. (Though unless asked not to there's no reason for anything upload...

Re: ZZT Ultra
I had to do the same with the Museum's file viewer for displaying special characters in object code. https://museumofzzt.com/static/js/file_viewer.js has a CP437_TO_UNICODE dictionary that links the two character sets up. I also remember an issue with one of the musical notes also being the carriage...
