Re: ZZT Uploads
Oh wow, I missed this post. Looks like Los Refritos 7 is in there, as well as the POKEY ZZT games. Is there anywhere to grab the zip file? The link earlier in the thread is now dead. https://museumofzzt.com/zgames/special/hubz-recomp.zip I will eventually upload and categorize all of these to the M...

Re: ZZT Uploads
Was this archive ever fully explored? Looks like there are some listed here that aren't on the museum yet. (Yes I am rather bored at work ATM.) Ex kevquest.zzt If Dos or someone else has a working copy of the archive (OP's link is dead) I can take a look through it I've got it and I'm already worki...

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
Confirmed. Private mode / localstorage issue. (...) Any ideas? You could simply disable local storage, for now, I think? I do not give support for older versions of Zeta, sorry. EDIT: I've fixed it and it will be pushed in beta 23. Sorry for taking so long - this specific bug kept slipping my TODO ...

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
No. But this may happen on some browsers in private mode and/or with localstorage disabled - I'm not sure if I fixed that in the end.nooBsaIBoT wrote:Edit: Also just noticed Zeta is crashing completely over at the Museum. Is that happening on your end?

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
I'm having trouble loading the character set and palette file, it just hangs. Is there something I'm doing wrong here or is there an easier way? ZetaLoad({ engine: { charset: "ascii.png", palette: "vic20.pld" }, }); It seems you haven't specified a path to any files - without ZZ...

Re: Bad Apple!! ZZT
I was aiming for ~400KB - this is the generally accepted "maximum world size that can be used on a real DOS machine with ZZT on it, without major hackery". Also, thanks for the kind words!nooBsaIBoT wrote:One of the biggest ZZT worlds out there!

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
But seriously, you've now programmed a pc speaker emulator that works better than the official dos box one, that's something to be proud of Hot take: It's not a PC Speaker emulator, actually! It's very inaccurate when it comes to real PC Speaker code - it's just deliberately tuned to take what ZZT ...

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
It's not -perfect- The grand question is: Do you have opinions on how I could make it more perfect? Note that ZZT doesn't really have an uniform "way it sounds", but maybe your input can lead me to a better solution (or, at the very least, config options) with observations. EDIT: Beta 21 ...

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
There still seems to be something odd with the music code compared to vanilla ZZT on a dos computer. It's better now, but there's still an issue with repeated notes. Could you give me feedback on this build? http://zeta.asie.pl/zeta86-beta21t2-win32.zip (Note that the .WAV writing code doesn't yet ...

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
It really does, and I see what you mean now that I have a concrete example! However, to get it exactly right, I'll need to procure a DOS machine on which it sounds correctly in the first place... so please stay tuned.Nerezza wrote:(...) this makes sense.

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
I'm having issues getting Super ZZT working properly in Zeta. It seems to only load one world at a time in the world list. Dosbox lists each world instead, so I know it's something going on with Zeta. Any ideas what's going on here or what I can do to fix it? Caught and fixed in beta17, thanks for ...

Re: re: run zzt without having to type 'kc' all the time
Alternatively, you can use Zeta to do this without patching the ZZT executable, by passing the "-t" argument.

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
I had to backtrack cause it's been a while... Those frontend arguments would be nice though. Any progress? yes! I just added them on one of my train journeys - CHR/PAL/PLD asset loading support will be a part of Beta 15, as will changing the charset/palette using array data in the web front-end. ma...

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT
Beta 14 has now been released, with major improvements to the web front-end! default.zln was created when you installed kevedit? What OS was this on? I am on Linux. A fresh, empty file "default.zln" with just the line I mentioned. Some testing shows that the file must be in the directory o...
