Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT

Cool beans.

I think Avarice is up there in terms of CPU intensity on the Super ZZT side anyway.

Switching over should be pretty painless. I'll give it a go one of these days.

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT

Hi asie, Congrats on a winning engine. Not to hijack your thread but I too am displeased with DOSBox performance so I took this out for a spin.. I will say, it's well executed and about as good as it's going to get but not even close to real hardware! Judge for yourself: geocities.ws/bestofzzt/zetat...

Re: ZZT Ultra

Aye, aye captain! Nothing personal. It's wrong of me spew all over the fora. I'll seek out a healthier outlet for the rage. Definitely conjuring up the dead in half my posts here, don't wanna do that! But hey, I'm just following the cookie crumbs of my predecessors.. We're all a little batshit crazy...

Re: ZZT Ultra

Trolling hard, holy shit. I'm used to QA guys catching flak. I said that to get a rise out of you, sorry. I hated my job and don't even have credentials to throw around. I'm done with software development. Sorry to hate on your project, I do secretly admire your work. I actually think we'd get on IR...

Name one? This is meagzeux in sheep's clothing and an insult to those who are trying to preserve the real thing.

I'll drop it, sorry.

Re: ZZT Ultra

Getting the most out of "vanilla" engine capability is increasingly hard. I really think we need better engines overall. On the contrary, ZZT is easier than ever. The editor might not have aged well but the engine is perfect just the way it is. We need tools to make things easier, yes. Th...

Re: GUI Editor

The GUI editor could stand to be improved. It was actually the first editor component I designed, when I was prototyping ZZT Ultra back in 2014. It's maybe a bit too basic. Definitely not as "art-friendly" as the world editor. It doesn't have to be fancy. Are you telling me that the GUI e...

Re: ZZT Ultra

I've been playing around with this! Can you explain how to edit a szzt world's intro screen? The instructions are rather vague.

I'm curious what other new features are available to vanilla zzt worlds? Please advise.

Re: Ecco the Dolphin

Oh, okay! Are we following eachother already?

Sorry about the speed, yeah I'm using DOSBox. I really need new hardware too, my processor is showing signs of wear and tear.

Again, good job! It's nice meeting you.

Re: ZZTV11 RELEASED!

Dangit! I forget to mention Drake's which is really good. Thanks, Commodore. I found ZZTris to be just a tad bit more stable and pretty impressive for 1999.
